Orestone Mining Corp. Names Rob Pease to Advisory Board

12.10.2011  |  Marketwired
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2011) - Orestone Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ORS) is pleased to announce the formation of an Advisory Board that will advise Orestone's management team and Board of Directors on a diverse range of topics relating to the exploration and development of the Company's portfolio of gold-copper projects in Northwestern British Columbia. The first member of the Advisory Board is Rob Pease.

Rob Pease was previously the founder, CEO and a Director of Terrane Metals Corp., which owned the Mt. Milligan project until it was acquired for $700 million in 2010 by Thompson Creek Metals. He is also a former Director and Strategic Advisor to Richfield Ventures Corp., a junior gold mining company in British Columbia which was acquired earlier his year by New Gold Inc. through a plan of arrangement valued at approximately $550 million. Previously, he was employed by Placer Dome for twenty five years, most recently as General Manager, Canada Exploration and Global Major Projects. He was responsible for managing all aspects of Placer Dome's Canadian exploration, and overseeing the geological aspects of world-wide advanced major exploration and development projects. Mr. Pease holds a B.Sc. degree in Earth Science from the University of Waterloo, a Professional Geologist (British Columbia) certification, and is a Fellow of the Geologic Association of Canada. He is also a past Chairman of the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia, and in 2010 was named "BC Mining Person of the Year" by the Mining Association of BC.

"We are excited to have Rob on board. Orestone's Captain Property has similar geophysical and geochemical signatures to the Mt. Milligan project on our northern border. Given Rob's experience with Terrane Metals, guiding the Mt. Milligan Project from development through to its ultimate purchase by Thompson Creek Metals, we expect that his contribution will be invaluable to Orestone," stated David Hottman, Orestone's CEO and President.

Orestone Mining Corp. is a Canadian based company managed by mining industry professionals. The Company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia and controls a portfolio of gold and gold-copper exploration projects totaling more than 700 square kilometers.
