Aldrin Appoints Thomas Cavanagh as President and Director

VANCOUVER, 01/31/12 - Aldrin Resource Corp. ('Aldrin') (TSX VENTURE: ALN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Cavanagh as President and Director.

Mr. Cavanagh has over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry including exploration and development expertise in basins around the world. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Northeastern University in 1978 and went on to study at Louisiana State University for a Master's of Science in Geology. Mr. Cavanagh's professional career started as a Geophysicist with Exxon in 1981, working in the USA, in 1988 he was transferred to Esso Production Malaysia, in 1991, to P.T. Stanvac Indonesia, returning to the USA in 1994 as a Senior Exploration Geophysicist in Exxon Corporation Far East Business Unit, and then transferred to Exxon's Deep Water Gulf of Mexico Business Unit. In 1996 Mr. Cavanagh joined Saudi Aramco as a Senior Geologic Advisor to work both the deep stratigraphic potential of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the conventional oils plays. In 1998 Mr. Cavanagh joined the United Meridian Company as an Exploration Geophysist in their Asia Middle East Group where through subsequent mergers with Ocean Energy and Seagull was promoted to the Chief Geophysicist and Vice President of New Business Development. During this time Ocean Energy became one of the most successful International Independents acquiring new blocks in Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, and Brazil. Mr. Cavanagh left Ocean Energy in 2003, formed CSB Petroleum and has consulted worldwide with major oil companies, independent oil companies and national oil companies, further developing his technical and new business development skills and contacts throughout the world. Mr. Cavanagh's work has identified, successfully drilled and developed over 750 million barrels of oil and more than 5 TCF of gas worldwide. He is currently a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Society of Exploration Geophysics. Mr. Cavanagh is currently President and Director of Mira Resources Corp., a Canadian offshore oil development company with assets in Nigeria.

Aldrin's current President and CEO Johnathan More will remain CEO of Aldrin. He states, 'We are ecstatic to have Mr. Cavanagh join our board and begin his role as President of Aldrin Resource Corp.
