12.09.2011 | Marketwired
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/12/11 -- Silver Quest Resources (TSX VENTURE: SQI) ('Silver Quest' or 'the Company') is pleased to update shareholders on the 2011 exploration activities in the White Gold District, Yukon. Exploration has been completed on 18 properties covering more than 85,000 hectares (ha) with the majority of the exploration conducted on the Boulevard Project, comprised of five separate properties, and the Prospector Mountain Project. Reconnaissance-style exploration has been done on the remaining 12 properties.
Boulevard Project
The Boulevard Project is located 135 kilometres (km) south of Dawson City and 35 km south of Kinross' Golden Saddle gold deposit. It adjoins the western border of Kaminak's Coffee Gold Project. Boulevard is comprised of 1,020 contiguous mineral claims covering approximately 20,400 ha. Silver Quest commenced geochemical soil sampling at Boulevard in June, and to date has collected approximately 5,000 soil samples. The Company has also completed detailed geological mapping, surficial terrain mapping and airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys on the Project. A planned 6,000 metre drill program is currently underway, to test targets generated by this season's field work. All soil samples have been analysed on-site using a portable X-Ray Fluorescence device. All assays are pending.
Prospector Mountain Project
The Prospector Mountain Project is located 90 km northeast of Carmacks, and is comprised of 271 contiguous mineral claims covering approximately 5,500 ha. Silver Quest commenced rock sampling in early June, and has collected approximately 800 samples. The Company has also completed detailed geological mapping, and airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys. A diamond drilling program of 1,588 metres (12 holes), was completed between mid-July and mid-August. The drill program was designed to test targets generated from 2010 assay results, and from an evaluation of the 2011 airborne geophysical survey data. All assays are pending.
Regional Exploration
The Company has collected approximately 3,750 geochemical soil samples from the 12 remaining White Gold District properties. Sampling programs were specifically designed for each individual property area, based on the ground and permafrost conditions which vary considerably throughout the region. This enabled crews to collect the optimal sample medium, while using the most efficient sampling technique, at each property. Airborne magnetic and radiometric surveying was also performed at the Rude Creek, Poker and Henderson properties.

Sample analysis and assaying is being conducted by ALS Laboratory Group in Vancouver, BC, which is an ISO/IEC 17025:2005-accredited laboratory. Samples are analyzed using a 51-element combination ICP-MS and ICP-AES package and a 30 g fire assay for gold. Samples returning greater than 1.0 g/t gold are re-analyzed using a 30 g fire assay with gravimetric finish. The Company has implemented a quality assurance and quality control program to ensure that the sampling and analysis of all samples is conducted in accordance with best practices.
