Mawson Appoints Maclean to Board
VANCOUVER, Feb. 13, 2012 /CNW/ - Mawson Resources Limited ('Mawson') TSX - MAW; Frankfurt - MRY. Mr Michael Hudson, President & CEO, announces that Mr. Colin Maclean has been appointed as a director of Mawson effective February 13, 2012.
Mr. Maclean holds a B.A (First Class Honours Geology) and is the Deputy Chairman and a founding partner of The Sentient Group's Resources Funds ('Sentient'). For the past 10 years he has stewarded Sentient's investments as a director of the investee companies under his direct responsibility. Prior to joining Sentient, he spent 14 years in funds management at the Private Capital division of the AMP Society, then Australia's foremost investing institution. Prior to AMP, he spent 15 years as an exploration geologist, mainly with the Exxon Minerals group, exploring for uranium and other ore deposit types in Australia, South Africa, the USA and Europe. His most senior role was Exploration Manager for Exxon Minerals Germany. Along with his appointment to the Mawson Board, Mr Maclean has also been appointed to the Audit Committee.
Mr. Hudson states, 'We are privileged to have Mr. Maclean join the Mawson board. With a lifetime of geological and investment experience, he will add significantly to the Company as we continue to advance our flagship Rompas gold discovery in Finland.'
