Renaissance Gold: Drilling Completed at Wood Hills South Gold Project, Nevada
Renaissance Gold Inc. (TSX: REN) ('RenGold?) is pleased to
announce the completion of drilling, at its Wood Hills South gold
exploration project, Elko County, Nevada. The drilling program operated
by NuLegacy Gold Corp. (NUG:TSXV) was the second half of a planned 20
hole drill program designed to broadly test a region greater than 35 sq.
km in a shallow pediment area.
The first 10 holes, reported February 6, 2012, produced 8 holes with
anomalous gold and trace elements. Importantly, hole WHS11-007
intersected an oxidized 10.7 meter (35 feet) interval from 83.8 to 94.5
meters down hole that averaged 0.40 g/t (0.013 opt) gold within an
approximate 60 meter (197 feet) zone of anomalous Carlin-style
pathfinder elements and gold. As previously reported, RenGold considers
this mineralization to be a likely extension of the Pequop Gold District
to the east.
The recently completed 10 new holes, aggregated 1,656.6 meters (5,435
feet) of drilling. These holes were not targeted as offsets to hole
WHS11-007 but on widely spaced select geophysical and geochemical
anomalies to determine if additional gold mineralization could be
identified. Drill samples were collected at 1.5 meter (5 foot)
intervals, all of which have been submitted for gold and 36 trace
element analyses, the results of which should be available by late-April.
In addition to the drilling, detailed geophysics and geochemistry
(microgravity and infill soil sampling) surveys around WHS11-007 were
commissioned to assist in planning an effective follow-up drilling
program of the gold mineralization found to date.
Soils include 488 samples taken in the north eastern portion of the
property to add detail to the 21 km of east-west orientated soil
geochemical surveys completed in 2010. Soil sampling was done at 600
meter spacing with samples collected at 50 meters along the lines. All
of the samples have been submitted for gold and 36 trace element
analyses. Results should be available in mid-April.
High Resolution Micro gravity covering approximately 15 sq. km is being
conducted in the area of the new soil sampling survey centered on
WHS11-007 to better delineate the nature of the discovered
mineralization. This survey will be completed and interpreted within the
next few weeks.
