Strathmore Further Updates Status of Church Rock & Gas Hills Technical Reports

KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/13/12 -- STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. (TSX: STM)(OTCQX: STHJF) ("Strathmore" or the "Company") is providing the following update to its news release dated January 6, 2012.

Strathmore's consultant, Behre Dolbear and Company (USA), Inc., has completed a new independent NI 43-101 compliant technical report entitled, "Preliminary Economic Assessment of the Strathmore Resources (US) Ltd. Church Rock Deposit McKinley County, New Mexico, USA". The Company has submitted this report to the British Columbia Securities Commission ("BCSC") for review.

The Company further reports that Chlumsky, Armbrust & Meyer LLC ("CAM"), the consulting firm contracted to prepare a new independent NI 43-101 technical report for the Company's Gas Hills, Wyoming Properties, is proceeding on schedule. This report is expected to be completed for submission to the BCSC by the end of April.

As noted in the Company's August 19, 2011, December 6, 2011, and January 6, 2012, press releases, investors should not rely on the previously filed technical reports for Gas Hills or Church Rock and should not rely on the mineral resources for Gas Hills disclosed in the Company's press releases dated July 21, 2011, and August 5, 2011, nor the Church Rock scoping study (now known as a preliminary economic assessment) disclosed in the Company's news release dated April 5, 2011.
