VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/08/12 -- Midas Gold Corp. (TSX: MAX) is pleased to announce that Stephen Quin, President and CEO of Midas Gold, last night accepted the Selwyn G. Blaylock Medal, which is awarded by the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). Stephen was awarded this medal in recognition of a career dedicated to the responsible and sustainable advancement and development of national and international exploration.
Established in 1948, the medal honours Selwyn G. Blaylock, one of the pioneers in the mining industry in western Canada. He was president of Cominco, recipient of several international awards for his work in metallurgy, and was the President of the CIM in 1934-35.
