VANCOUVER, British Columbia - September 3, 2012 - GREAT ATLANTIC RESOURCES CORP. (TSXV.GR) is pleased to announceit has recently acquired, by staking, three claim groups totalling 41 claims (1640 acres) at East Long Lake, Charlotte County, N.B. These claims, situated approximately 500 meters SE of the Otter Lake project area were staked after tracking down the source of mineralized road fill that was found on a number of bush roads that cross the region. The East Long Lake blocks are underlain by the multiphase Mount Douglass Granite (Devonian). The mineralization consists of a number of quartz greisen zones up to 20meters in width which carry fluorite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, hematite, magnetite, molybdenite, scheelite and wolframite.

"Our goal is to always explore, and we constantly have boots and hammers on the ground looking at and investigating various geological concepts... sometimes you're looking for Antimony and you find Copper that's what makes exploration interesting". Chris Anderson, President

A total of ten mineralised float samples were taken and sent to Activation Labs in Ancaster, Ontario and initially analyzed using a combination ofneutron activation and Aqua Regia-ICP.Samples that were above the upper detection limit were assayed using ICP OES. Assays includedelevated values rangingfrom 1 to180 ppm (parts per million) Ag, 24 ppm to1.69% Zn, 29 ppm to2.09% Pb, <10 to 577 ppm Bi and <2 to 1160 ppm Mo. Associated with one of the greisen zones is a quartz flooded zone with abundant pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite which on first pass ran 2.09% and 4.84% Cu with < 200ppb Au. Results are pending for the tungsten bearing greisens. These samples were taken from large float blocks, > 10 kilograms in size, with a 2.5 to 3 kg cut being sent to the lab for analysis.

Great Atlantic also recentlycompleted a trenching program over selected areas on its 6,560 acre Otter Lake property in northern Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Upon completion of a geophysical survey at the end of April 2012, a trenching program was laid out in order to assess the geophysical targets identified by both the IP and gravity work. In laying out the trench locations, historical soil geochemistry and assay results were taken into consideration.

One trench uncovered a new occurrence of quartz vein hosted wolframite mineralization. Wolframite is a tungsten(W) mineral and the showing is located along the base line at 10+85W on the gravity/IP grid. The mineralization occurs as coarse aggregations of wolframite with local alteration rims of scheelite in a series of four sub-parallel 5 to 10 cm. quartz veins in silicified quartz wacke. Associated minerals are arsenopyrite and minor pyrite. The veins cross cut the regional stratigraphy at a small angle and appear to occupy dilatant zones developed near the intersection of local, small scale shears. Gold values are slightly elevated at 20 to 50 ppb. One composite grab sample was taken of each of the four veins. Tungsten assays were 1.08, 1.63, 3.95 and 3.90% W. Channel sampling of this zone is currently underway and confirmatory assays are pending.

As previously announced on July 18, 2012, a total of six trenches and two pits totalling approximately 900 meters have been completed. All trenches were within variably altered Silurian Digdeguash Formation quartz wacke and lesser black argillite and conglomerate. In the western portion of the trench area, sericitized porphyry dikes of probable Devonian age were found occurring as bedding parallel dikes up to 2 meters in width and as intrusions along fault planes up to 30 meters wide. Mineralization occurs primarily as disseminated arsenopyrite and pyrite within quartz filled fractures in shear controlled silicified wackes. Arsenopyrite also occurs as disseminated haloes in the silicified wall rock around the fracture zones. Assays from these trenches returned no significant gold assays.

Patrick Forseille, P. Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 is responsible for the technical information contained in this release.

Related Deposits

The Otter Lake claim group is situated 15 km east of the Mt Pleasant Zn (zinc), In (Indium), W (tungsten), Mo (Molybdenum), Bi (Bismuth) deposit ( ADE - TSX.V ), which is in the planning stages of coming back on stream. The Clarence Stream gold is located approximately 25 kilometers west south-west from Otter Lake.
