VANCOUVER, British Columbia - September6, 2012 - GREAT ATLANTIC RESOURCES CORP. (TSXV.GR) is pleased to announcethe acquisition of the Lansdowne Antimony Gold property, located in Digby County, Nova Scotia. The property is held by GR's private subsidiary company, Atlantic Canada Antimony Inc. (ACA). (ACA) was formed by GR and two local prospectors, one of whomis Avard Hudgins who is a well respected geologist in the region. ACA has a 100% interest in the Lansdowne property which is comprised of 354 claims covering over 14,000 acres. GR is the designated operator of the project and will be facilitating the first $150,000 of initial exploration expenditures to be incurred by ACA, which expenditures will include the completion of a 43-101 technical report. ACA was recently notified by the Department of Natural Resources in Nova Scotia that it has been awarded an initial grant of $25,000 towards its exploration program.

The Lansdowne property is located 9 kilometres south of Digby, Nova Scotia which has a population of 2,100 and is a local supply and service center for the area. A system of paved, dirt and logging roads provide easy access to the property and all claim areas. Water and electric power are also readily available.

Historic Work:

Although there has been some historic exploration on different areas of this large land package the majority of the property has been underexplored.

In 1950 dump samples were taken from a two meter deep pit, dug on an east bank of Walsh Brook. The samples, selected so to be relatively low in arsenopyrite, were assayed as a composite sample and returned 7% antimony (Sb) and 7.5 % lead (Pb) (Assessment Report NSDNR E. Lee Cameron 1950). In 1987 Four Seasons Resources Ltd reported a quartz antimony showing in the Waldeck West area of the property. A green sericitized quartz intruded altered zoneexposed over an area of two meters by three meters and fifteen meters from the quartz antimony showing, returned a random grab sampleof 1131 ppm Sb, 2432 ppmArsenic (As) and 0.80 ppm Au (Assessment Report NSDNR T.G. Mersereau 1988). In 1992 four drills holes where done by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources in the Walsh Brook area. In drill hole LAN-92-2 an eight meter highly altered zone was cut within a mafic dyke that contained abundant jamiesonite, arsenopyrite, pyrite and sphalerite. A 0.91 meter section from 76.60 meters returned 16,040 ppm Sb, 48,457 ppm Pb, 9551 ppm Zn, 720 Cu, 26,199 ppm As, 342 Cd, 47.83 ppm Ag and 0.351 ppm Au (Assessment Report NSDNR L. Jensen 1995). The majority of this hole, and the other three holes drilled, were not assayed. Given that micron-scale (no see-um) gold has been now found in the Meguma Group, Halifax formation slates;ACA will re-evaluate the drill core for potential assay with particular emphasis on the wide sections of black argillite-siltstone packages for antimony, gold, silver mineralization.

In 1979 Shell Canada drilled 41 holes in the Ellison Lake area of the property. All 41holes collared in quartz monzonite typical of the Ellison Lake pluton. These holes where never assayed for antimony, gold or silver and will also need to be re-evaluated for assay. Shell also did an induced polarization magnetic survey over the Ellison Lake area. A map of the induced polarization results showed conductors at the granite-metasedimentary contact. These results were never followed up on and are considered by the company to be highly important as potential exploration targets.

Readers are warned that "historical records" referred to in this release have been examined but not verified by a "Qualified Person". Further work is required to verify that the historical assays referred to in this release are accurate.

Property Geology:

In the Digby County area, there are swarms of gabbro sills, some of which exhibit intense hydrothermal alterations consisting of silicification, carbonitization and the development of antimony-lead sulphosalts and stibnite containing anomalous amounts of gold and silver. The great number of these gabbro sills and the intensity of their hydrothermal alterations is a marked geological anomaly in the early Paleozoic -age fold belts of Atlantic Canada. The gabbro sills intrude highly folded Halifax-age metasediments intruded by Devonian-age leucogranite plutons at the intersection of strong faults in a classical geological setting for intrusive antimony/gold deposits both in the endo and exo contacts of granite intrusions. The granite intrusions are satellite plutons of the nearby South Mountain batholith and are manifest in hornfels containing abundant corderite in Halifax -age slates.

Coincident airborne magnetic lows coincident with airborne gamma ray anomalies for potassium also outline the granite intrusions.High heavy mineral concentrate anomalies for tungsten are located just down-ice from the locations of two circular granite plutons. There is potential for intrusive antimony-gold deposits inmetasediments and altered gabbro sills as well as gold deposits in granitic rocks. The area also has the potential for skarn deposits of gold and tungsten in beds of limestone.

Exploration has commenced on the property. A total of $150,000 has been slated for exploration. The company would like to thank and acknowledge the province of Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources for awarding the Lansdowne project a $25,000 grant from the Nova Scotia Mineral Incentive Program Fund.

Patrick Forseille, P. Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 is responsible for the technical information contained in this release.
