VANCOUVER, British Columbia - September 10, 2012 - GREAT ATLANTIC RESOURCES CORP. (TSXV.GR) is pleased to announce that it has received grant from the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources for exploration work on its 100% owned 5,760 Christmas Island Gold and Graphite property located in the County of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The company would like to thank and acknowledge the province of Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources for awarding the Lansdowne project a $25,000 grant from the Nova Scotia Mineral Incentive Program Fund.

Atlantic Canada Antimony Update

The Company is also pleased to report an update on its recently announced partnership on the Lansdowne Antimony Gold property, located in Digby County, Nova Scotia. The partnership was formed by GR and two local prospectors, one of whom is Avard Hudgins, a well respected geologist in the region who was recently profiled in the latest edition of the Canadian Mining Journal.

In summary, the article states:

"It is no easy task finding an economical and worthwhile mineral deposit, and it's an even harder job turning that discovery into a producing mine, but for Avard D. Hudgins, that's what he does. And, according to many in the know, nobody does it better.

In fact, precious few prospectors can lay claim to having found one mine, let alone several, but there's always an exception and one of those exceptions is Avard D. Hudgins, of Truro, Nova Scotia."

A comprehensive several page biography detailing Avard's success in the exploration industry can be read in this most recent edition of the Mining Journal. Great Atlantic is thrilled to be in partnership with such a successful and respected member of the geological fraternity. We are looking forward to sharing in a successful exploration program at the Lansdowne property which Avard has endorsed as having great potential for antimony and gold deposits.
