Alcoa Chief Diversity Officer Gena Lovett Named to List of 2013 Women Worth Watching ?

Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Chief Diversity Officer Gena Lovett
has been selected as one of the 2013
Women Worth Watching
 ? by Diversity Journal magazine. The
publication recognizes women executives that have demonstrated
outstanding achievement and leadership in their careers.


In the magazine's annual Women Worth Watching ? issue, nearly 200 female
executives share their views on the importance of education as a
critical success factor in their careers and also emphasize that girls
need to be encouraged early to pursue studies in science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM).


'My education unlocked opportunities for me and gave me confidence to
compete,' Lovett said in her profile. 'It has opened my mind to new
ideas and with new ideas comes innovation.'


'The best and the brightest STEM candidates at Alcoa are challenged,
recognized, rewarded and encouraged to develop to their full potential,'
Lovett said. 'A STEM career offers tremendous opportunities for women
and minorities to take on leadership roles to ensure the next generation
of leaders includes diverse viewpoints.'


Lovett was appointed Chief Diversity Officer for Alcoa in January 2012,
serving as the company′s executive level diversity and inclusion
strategist. Prior to this assignment, she was plant manager at Alcoa's
Cleveland (Ohio) Works responsible for the manufacturing operations of
three key Alcoa businesses -- Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions Aerospace,
Commercial Vehicle Wheels, and Forged Specialty Wheels.


Lovett serves on the advisory board of the Federal Reserve Bank of
Cleveland and as a Vice Chairperson of the Cuyahoga Community College
Foundation, Board Director for University Hospitals Case Medical Center,
and Trustee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. She was
recognized by Crain′s business magazine as a 'Woman of Note? in 2011 and
in 2009 was named a YWCA 'Woman of Achievement.?


Lovett is a graduate of The Ohio State University and earned an MBA in
international business from Baker School of Graduate Studies, in Flint,
Michigan.
