Toronto, Canada (ABN Newswire) - Avalon Rare Metals Inc. (TSE:AVL) (NYSE MKT: AVL) is pleased to invite shareholders and other interested delegates to the 2013 PDAC Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange, Toronto, ON, March 3 - 6, 2013. The following lists all exhibits, events, and speaking engagements featuring Avalon management and staff. All events take place in the South Building of the Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre, unless noted otherwise.

Sunday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Mandeep Singh Rayat, Communications and Investor Relations Associate, and Ron Malashewski, Manager, Investor Relations, along with other members of the Avalon management team will be available at the booth throughout the event to meet with shareholders and other interested delegates. SHORT COURSES, EXHIBITS, FORUMS and PRESENTATIONS

Friday, March 1
Dr. Bill Mercer, Vice President, Exploration and Mark Wiseman, Vice President, Sustainability will be running a short course on Health and Safety in Mineral Exploration from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration is required to attend the workshop.

Monday, March 4
Bill Mercer and Past Chief Robert Sayine of the Deninu K'ue First Nation will be delivering a presentation in the Building Aboriginal Capacity for Economic Independence Technical Session. The presentation is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. in Room 714.

Don Bubar, President and CEO, will be co-chairing the Aboriginal Forum on Promoting Excellence in Engagement with Michael Fox of Fox High Impact Consulting. This forum will take place in Room 714 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 5
Pierre Neatby, Vice President Sales and Marketing, will deliver a presentation in the REE & Electric Metals Session of the Corporate Presentation Forum for Investors. The presentation will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Room 803AB.

Mark Wiseman will deliver a presentation on 'Biodiversity in Exploration' in the CSR Event Series session on The Business Case for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. This session will begin at 2:45 p.m. in Room 711.

Wednesday, March 6
Don Bubar will be co-chairing the Specialty Metals and Minerals Technical Session alongside Don Hains of Hains Engineering. This session is scheduled to take place in Room 715 from 9:10 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.

Bill Mercer and Charles Beaudry of XMet Inc. will be co-chairing the New Discoveries and Developments Technical Session in Room 716 from 9:10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
