Golden Band Resources Announces Appointment of Officers

SASKATOON, March 5, 2013 /CNW/ - Golden Band Resources Inc. (Golden Band or Company) (TSXV: GBN; OTCQX: GBRIF) announces the appointment of new officers effective March 1, 2013. Mr. Paul Saxton is appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Jimmy Mah is appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company.

Mr. Saxton is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Mining Corporation, a junior gold exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. He possesses a degree in mining engineering and a Masters in Business Administration and sits on the board of five other publicly listed mining companies. Mr. Saxton brings over 35 years of experience in the mining industry including Cominco (now Teck Resources). Over the years, he has been involved with several mining companies in diverse positions including mining engineer, operations manager and president and has been instrumental in building four operating mines.

Mr. Mah is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Lincoln Mining Corporation, a junior gold exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.  He is a Certified Management Accountant with over 15 years of senior management experience in the mining, manufacturing, distribution and property management sectors.  He has been responsible for strategic planning initiatives, operations and all aspects of corporate and financial management and administration, with experience in public company regulatory filings and compliance in Canada.  As a financial executive, Mr. Mah brings a wide variety of experience in the mining industry including extensive responsibility for budgeting, cost management, corporate governance, government and securities compliance, taxation, as well as enterprise resource planning and information systems implementation
