Klondex Mines Continues to Strengthen Management Team

Adds Chief Mining Engineer, Environmental Manager, and Safety and Projects Foreman at Fire Creek, and Investor Relations Manager in Toronto

TORONTO and ELKO, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 03/20/13 -- Klondex Mines Ltd. (TSX: KDX) (OTCQX: KLNDF), a northern Nevada gold exploration and development company, continues to strengthen the operations team at its flagship Fire Creek project and expand its investor outreach program in Toronto. At Fire Creek, in Lander County, Nevada, Dr. Shuai Chen joins Klondex as Chief Engineer, Lucy Downer joins as Environmental Manager, and Bryan Ouellette is named Safety and Projects Foreman. Alison Tullis joins Klondex in Toronto as Manager, Investor Relations.

Dr. Chen will oversee the design of the Fire Creek underground mining project. He has 17 years of experience designing mining projects, specializing in underground mine design, planning, ground control and cost control. His previous Nevada gold mining experience includes serving as Chief Engineer for Atna Resources' Pinson mine, as Senior Engineer for Great Basin Gold's Hollister mine and as Senior Mining Engineer for Newmont's Midas Mine. Dr. Chen earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Mining Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Ms. Downer brings 18 years of environmental experience and has been instrumental in the success of several mining and environmental projects across North America, primarily within Nevada. She is a graduate of the Engineering: Mining and Mineral Processing Program of Queens University in Ontario.

Mr. Ouellette brings over 30 years of experience in North American mine safety to Fire Creek. He began his career in Ontario with Noranda, followed by increasingly senior training, projects and safety managing roles at Newmont's Marathon Ontario and Carlin Nevada projects. Most recently, he managed the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt continuous improvement courses at Carlin, including managing the project pipeline and analyzing the best methodologies to extract gold from tailings.

Ms. Tullis will be responsible for the development and execution of Klondex Mines' investor relations program in conjunction with Catalyst Global, the company's capital markets consulting firm. She brings eight years of experience building investor relations programs for public companies, most recently for a Canadian gold developer.
