Eagle Star Strengthens Technical Team as Part of its Plan to Move Into Production
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/25/13 -- Eagle Star Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE: EGE)(PINKSHEETS: ELGSF)(FRANKFURT: E6R) ("Eagle Star" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the addition of two experts - Dr. Eder Souza Martins and Mr. Tiago Pereira, to its board of directors and management team. These two highly qualified individuals will help the company implement its strategy of becoming a producer of fertilizers within the next twelve months.
Dr. Martins graduated with his geology degree in 1987 from the University of Brasilia and obtained his M.Sc and Ph.D at this same institution. In 1999 he pioneered the studies of direct application natural fertilizer within Brazil and published numerous studies concerning the use of agro-minerals in their natural form. Dr. Martins is specialized in geochemistry, geomorphology, tropical soils, mineralogy, chemic kinetics, phosphate, potash and the Cerrado environment. Presently, Dr. Martins is acting as Head Researcher at the Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuaria (EMPRAPA Cerrados) - Brazil's leading governmental research agency for agricultural technology. His ongoing project at EMBRAPA is focused on testing new sources of agro minerals and technological routes in live environments to produce fertilizers. Dr. Martins is well recognized within the fertilizers' industry in Brazil as a leading scientist responsible for outlining technical criterias and standards to the application of agro minerals as fertilizers. Dr. Martins will replace Mr. Carlos Perruca as a Director of the Board of the company.
Mr. Tiago Pereira has graduated as a mining engineer from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and obtained his M.Sc in flotation processes also from Federal University of Rio Grande de Sul (UFRGS). On top of his work experience with major Brazilian mining companies such as Votorantim Group and Lafarge Agregados, Mr. Pereira most recently served as Chief Mining Engineer for implementation and production at the Itafos Arraias natural fertilizer plant currently owned and operated by MbAC Fertilizers Corp. The Itafos Arraias Mine is located 10kms away from Eagle Star's Bomfim Property. The Company has already commenced, with the assistance of Mr. Pereira, the process of registering at the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture the first fertilizer product it intends to manufacture at Bomfim in addition to applying for the necessary environmental and mining licenses from the Brazilian mining agency (DNPM). Mr. Pereira will assume the role of Production Development Manager for Eagle Star.
Both Dr. Eder and Mr. Pereira will apply their extensive knowledge and experience towards assisting Eagle Star with formulizing and implementing its production strategy.

The board of directors has approved a grant of incentive stock options to both Dr. Martins and Mr. Pereira to purchase an aggregate of 250,000 common shares pursuant to its 2012 stock option plan. All options granted as per this press release will have an exercise price of $0.38 per common share and expire on March 23, 2018.
