Mercator Minerals Announces Senior Management Changes
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/31/13 -- Mercator Minerals Ltd (TSX: ML) ("Mercator" or the "Company") announces that as of June 1, 2013 Gary Simmerman, will become a consultant to the Company and will cease to be an officer of the Company.
"Since 2007, Gary has been instrumental in the planning, construction and operation of Mineral Park mine from a small copper heap leach operation into a large scale, long life open pit mine. We want to thank Gary for his dedication and loyalty and very pleased that we can continue to draw upon Gary's expertise in his consulting capacity," commented Bruce McLeod, Mercator's President and CEO. "Since the appointment of Joe Campbell as General Manager, Mineral Park in July 2012, Joe and his team have overseen significant improvements in recoveries, throughput, and safety performance which have been reported in Mercator's quarterly operational performance. As a result, we believe that we have an outstanding team in place at the Mineral Park Mine to ensure continued progress on optimizing operations over the coming months."
The Company also announces that the contract with Craig Smith, Project Manager, Mineral Park has expired with Mr. Smith's responsibilities having been taken over by Mr. Campbell and his operational team.
