Vanstar Announces Start of Work on Little Monster
21.06.2013 | Marketwired
LA PRAIRIE, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired - June 21, 2013) - Vanstar Mining Resources (TSX VENTURE:VSR) plans to start work in early July on the first phase of its Little Monster project, located east of the Monster Lake property (TomaGold-Quinto) in the Chapais-Chibougamau area.
This first phase of work will consist of a geological survey, sampling and prospecting, in addition to a magnetic survey. Based on the results, the company will proceed with stripping, channel sampling and mapping to verify the potential of the targets identified during this first phase.
The Little Monster project, which Vanstar has a 50% interest in, is made up of 20 cells covering approximately 1,040 hectares and is located in the Fancamp deformation corridor. Vanstar also holds a 50% interest in the Cookie Monster project, which is east of the Little Monster project.
In the immediate surroundings of the Little Monster project is the important Monster Lake showing, where recent results indicate a strong gold mining potential, particularly at Zone 325, located less than 1,000 metres from the western edge of Little Monster (see TomaGold press release, 2013-02-20). To the east are Murgor's main showings-Zones A, B and C-and the Chevrier deposits. In the southeast extension is the Opawica-Guercheville deformation corridor, which contains several gold deposits, including Philibert (1.4 million MT @ 5.32 g/t Au - DV9301), Meston Lake (1.225 million MT @ 6.35 g/t Au - MB89-17) and the former Joe Mann mine (1.52 million MT @ 11 g/t Au - GM44408).
The company is also assessing other projects in strategic mining locations such as the areas of Kirkland Lake, in Ontario, and Rouyn-Noranda, in Abitibi.
Work will be supervised by Daniel Kelly, Consulting Geologist and a qualified person under NI 43-101. He has read and approved this press release.
