Aldrin Commences Airborne Radiometrics Survey, and Completes VTEM Infill Lines to Refine Drill Targets on the Triple M Property Adjacent to Patterson Lake

24.07.2013  |  Marketwired

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jul 24, 2013) - Aldrin Resource Corp. ("Aldrin") (TSX VENTURE:ALN) is pleased to announce the immediate commencement of a high-resolution airborne radiometrics survey, as well as successful completion of the infill lines added to the previously reported airborne magnetic-electromagnetic (VTEM) survey covering the Triple M Property ("Property"). Aldrin's Triple M Uranium Property is located adjacent to the recent high-grade uranium discovery by Fission Uranium Corp./Alpha Minerals Inc. at Patterson Lake area in northern Saskatchewan. The Triple M Property is 10 km southwest and on trend to the Patterson Lake discovery.

The airborne radiometrics survey is being conducted using an extra-sensitive detector system flown at 100 m line spacing by experienced geophysical contractor Goldak Airborne Surveys, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The airborne radiometrics survey will provide sensitive detection of uranium, thorium and potassium over the Property. Data from this survey may point the way to near-surface anomalies related to uranium mineralization, potentially including boulders of ore-grade uranium minerals, such as led to the discovery of the adjacent Patterson Lake deposit.

The radiometrics data will be integrated with Aldrin's recently completed high-resolution magnetic and electromagnetic helicopter-borne survey, which yielded two strong conductive anomalies interpreted as basement conductors that are associated with a uranium mineralized fault structure. Aldrin added the infill lines after discovery of these basement conductive anomalies, to enhance detail by bringing the effective line spacing of the magnetic/electromagnetic VTEM survey to 100 m over the anomalies, as announced in a news release dated June 12, 2013. These infill lines were completed while the VTEM helicopter was on-site, and confirm the previous interpretation of two parallel basement conductors of 2 to 3 km length, with the eastern conductor being steeply dipping consistent with a potentially mineralized fault zone.

Aldrin's airborne geophysical surveys are intended to guide field work on the Property starting in August, 2013. The field work will focus on a surface radon sampling program to prioritize sites for drill testing of the basement conductive anomalies. In addition, the August field program will follow-up any anomalies detected by the radiometrics survey. The primary goal of the airborne geophysical surveys, and surface geochemical work is to generate the best drill collar locations to test the already-identified basement conductors when drilling starts, as anticipated for January, 2014.

Aldrin's CEO Johnathan More states, "We continue to be very excited by the progress we are making towards drill targets on the Triple M Property. We will continue to refine our drill targets and look forward to testing them beginning by January 2014."
