Beaufield Commences Drilling at its Opinaca Gold Property
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jul 25, 2013) - Beaufield Resources Inc. ("Beaufield" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:BFD) is pleased to announce the July 24th start of a 2,500 metre, 12 hole drill program on its 100% owned Opinaca property in James Bay, Quebec. The 101 km2 property is located in the Eleonore gold camp where Goldcorp is developing a new gold mine with a reported initial investment of $2 billion and scheduled to begin production in 2014. Beaufield's property shares a 21 kilometre long boundary with Goldcorp and contains the same geological formations that hosts the Eleonore gold mineralization.
The objective of the program is to drill a series of geochemical, geophysical, structural and geological anomalies that may be associated with the presence of gold mineralization found at surface:
- Strong IP targets coincident with gold mineralization. (19 g/t Au and 5.67 g/t Au in grab samples);
- Extension at depth of gold mineralization at surface (Grab samples: 5.03 g/t Au and 6.88 g/t Au);
- Possible extensions of previous drilling results:
- 8.58 g/t Au over 0.7m (Drill Hole OP-O6-11)
- 1.1 g/t Au over 20.0m (Drill Hole OP-06-01)
- Highly anomalous gold, copper and arsenic soils samples indicative a possible underlying mineralization.
