SAS Advises of Forthcoming Management Change

07.08.2013  |  CNW

Canada NewsWire

TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - St Andrew Goldfields Ltd. (TSX-SAS) (OTCQX-STADF), ("SAS" or the "Company") ("SAS" or the "Company") has been advised by Jacques Perron, President and Chief Executive Officer, that he will be resigning from his position with St Andrew Goldfields Ltd., with effect as of October 31, 2013, in order to pursue a new opportunity with similar responsibilities with a larger mining company with operations in Western North America.

Mr. Perron has been with SAS for six years and deserves full credit for having transformed the Company from one that struggled to produce 10,000 ounces of gold in 2007, with substantial operating losses and in poor financial health, to the current SAS that has become a reliable producer of 100,000 ounces of gold per year, sourced from three different mining sites, and with the financial strength to pursue exploration and development opportunities on its extensive property holdings in Northeastern Ontario.

Graham Farquharson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAS, paid tribute to the exceptional performance of Mr. Perron during his tenure with the Company, by commenting, "that while we are sorry to lose Jacques, we fully understand the rationale for his desire to undertake a new challenge and on behalf of the SAS employees, Board of Directors and shareholders, we thank him for what he has done for SAS and wish him similar success to that which he has had with SAS as he responds to that new challenge".

One of Jacques Perron's many accomplishments during his tenure with SAS was putting together a very capable and stable management team and organization, and the Board of Directors look forward to working with that team in the forthcoming management transition.
