Change of Chief Financial Officer and Director for Golden Dawn and Appointment of Corporate Secretary

Vancouver, August 21, 2013 - Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: GOM; FRANKFURT: 3G8N) (the "Company" or "Golden Dawn") reports that Joao (John) da Costa has resigned as the CFO and a director of the Company effective August 20, 2013, for personal reasons. The Company thanks him for his contribution to the Company and wishes him well in his various business endeavors.

Rita Tung has been appointed as the CFO and a director of the Company effective August 21, 2013. Ms. Tung is a professional accountant and has 20 years' experience in financial reporting and accounting. Ms. Tung is a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She has served as corporate controller of Golden Dawn and Super Nova Minerals Corp. since 2009.

The Company also reports that Ms. Kumiko Hara has been appointed as Corporate Secretary of the Company effective August 1, 2013. Ms. Hara has served as Administrative Secretary of Golden Dawn and Super Nova Minerals Corp. for the past three years, and has served as the Company's acting Corporate Secretary since August 2012. Ms. Hara is also the Corporate Secretary for Super Nova Minerals Corp. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology in 2009 from the University of Victoria, B.C..
