ST. LOUIS, Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Coal Corp. (OTC: PCXCQ) today announced that G. Frank Foster has been inducted into the Coal Mine Rescue Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place in Columbus, Ohio during the banquet recognizing the winners of the 2013 biennial national mine rescue competition. The Hall of Fame was established by the Mine Safety and Health Administration to honor individuals with exceptional accomplishments in the field of mine rescue.

Mr. Foster serves as Patriot's Director of Safety Compliance, with responsibility for the Company's award-winning mine rescue teams. He has 37 years of experience in the mining industry, and has been involved with mine rescue teams for 27 years.
