Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. Reach New Labor Agreement With the United Steelworkers at Pointe Noire Operation in Quebec

CLEVELAND, Dec. 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE:CLF) (Paris:CLF) announced today an agreement with the United Steelworkers Union for a new six-year labor contract that will cover approximately 229 represented workers at Cliffs' Pointe Noire operation in Quebec.

The agreement has been ratified by United Steelworkers local union memberships.

Sean Whiteford, vice president, eastern canadian iron ore operations, commented, "We are pleased to reach a new labor contract that is fair and equitable to both parties, and provides Cliffs a competitive cost structure for future success.
