Dakota Territory Resource Corp Names Former Senior Homestake Researcher as Special Consultant

Reno, Nevada, Feb. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dakota Territory Resource Corp (OTCQB: DTRC) ("Dakota Territory" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has entered into a consulting agreement with Dr. Michael Terry, a former Homestake Geologic Researcher, to provide guidance to the Company in the execution of its exploration strategies. In recent years, Dr. Terry and fellow scientists have proposed a Fault Block Concept that provides new insights into the gold metallogenesis of the northern Black Hills of South Dakota.

Michael Terry

Dr. Terry has 28 years experience in mineral exploration and geological research, including 4 years with Homestake Mining Company. Dr. Terry's collaborations have contributed to 19 peer-reviewed publications and more than 40 others in the form of maps, reports, guidebook articles and conference proceedings in the areas of experimental and applied petrology, tectonics, structural geology, geochronology and gold mineralization. Dr. Terry has served as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Bavarian Research Institute of Experimental Geochemistry and Geophysics at the University of Bayreuth and as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Dr. Terry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls; his Master's of Science degree in Geology at the University of Akron; and Doctor of Philosophy in Geosciences from University of Massachusetts.

This program also proved the continuous extension of the Homestake iron-formation to a distance of approximately 4 miles from the producing mine and under the Blind Gold Property.
