Dissimieux Lake Prospecting Returns Grab Samples up to 6.58% P2O5 on Western Structure

25.02.2014  |  FSCwire
* Final Results of Prospecting Grab Samples from Dissimieux Lake
* 65 assay results from Western Dissimieux Sampling with up to 6.58% P2O5

Toronto (Canada), February 25, 2014 /FSC/ - Jourdan Resources Inc. (JOR - TSX Venture), ("JOURDAN" or the "Company") (www.jourdan.ca)is pleased to announce additional results of the late 2013 prospecting program on the company's flagship Dissimieux Lake Phosphate claims, located 140 km north-west of Baie-Comeau and 130 km north of Forestville, Quebec along the Upper North Shore of the St. Lawrence River.

In December 2013 Jourdan completed the prospecting of three regions outside the Main Dissimieux Lake Phosphate Zone (see Map 1) and a total of 231 grab samples were collected and submitted for analysis (see press release dated December 17, 2013 - http://www.jourdan.ca/uploads/187.pdf ). The first of these results were documented in the press release titled "Dissimieux Lake Prospecting Returns Grab Samples up to 8.79% P2O5 at Fleury Showings" dated February 20, 2014 - http://www.jourdan.ca/uploads/194.pdf

Previous exploration on the Dissimieux Lake Project by Jourdan has focussed on drilling the Main Phosphate Zone. This zone has been traced with 400 metre centred drilling over a distance of approximately 2,400 metres. The December 2013 prospecting targeted areas outside this main zone including 65 samples collected from western arm of the Dissimieux Lake claims. This target zone covers a southwest to northeast trending feature observed in airborne geophysics that extends a length of at least 20 kilometres. This structure is sub parallel to the Main Dissimieux Lake Zone located approximately 5 km to the southeast. See Map 2.

Part of the planned December 2013 prospecting was to sample along this geophysical feature utilizing accessible roads and trails and as such does not represent a systematic exploration of the targeted areas. Of the total 231 samples, 65 were collected from the western zone with 10.7% or 7 of 65 samples returning values greater than 3% P2O5 (see Table1). This included one sample greater than 5% P2O5, sample K435479, which assayed 6.58% P2O5, located near the southwest extent of the sampling (See Map 2). Other anomalous samples along the possible structure outline areas for future prospecting and systematic sampling.

This program supports the use of airborne geophysics in the targeting process and similar targets will be examined for exploration in 2014.  Investors should note grab samples are selective by nature and may not be representative of average grades of the mineralization within zones.

"Despite tight exploration budgets, Jourdan has successfully demonstrated that Dissimieux Lake is not just a single mineralized zone, but a large mineralized system. With mineralization currently identified in zones within an area of approximately 5 km but 20 km, Dissimieux Lake has the potential to become as significant as other more advanced phosphate projects in Quebec," stated Jourdan's President and CEO Michael Dehn. "Quebec has the opportunity to be the source of high grade phosphate rock concentrate that exceeds the grades currently produced in Morocco, the South Pacific and Egypt. Phosphate Rock concentrate grade from Arianne's Lac a Paul deposit grades up to 38.6% P2O5, from Yara and Investment Quebec's Mine Arnaud up to 40% P2O5, and from Dissimieux Lake's historical test work up to 41.2% P2O5, Quebec's phosphate deposits may be a solution in the future to aid in crop production and yield as the world's population continues to grow."

Quality assurance / Quality Control ("QA/QC")

Surface grab samples averaging 1 kilogram each were taken by qualified personnel from Jourdan. Samples were bagged, sealed and numbered on-site, and delivered to Jourdan's Mississauga office by Jourdan staff.  Blank samples, standards and duplicates were inserted into the sample stream and the full set of samples was transported to AGAT Laboratories in Mississauga, Ontario for analysis. At the laboratory facility, samples were inventoried, weighed and dried; crushed 75% to under 2 millimetres; riffled split with a 250 gram sub-sample pulverized 85% to under 75 microns; then followed by analysis using packages 201-078 Lithogeochemical Analysis by ICP/ICPMS Finish and 201-676 XRF Whole Rock Analysis. Approximately 5% of the samples were submitted to ALS Canada for check analysis.
