Cartier and Sphinx Drill the Extensions of the Gold Zones on the Dollier Project
VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2014) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") and its partner Sphinx Resources Ltd. ("Sphinx") (previously named Donner Metals Ltd.) announce that they are commencing a drill program on the Dollier property, situated 30 km south-east of Chibougamau.
The objective of the program is to test the west lateral and depth extensions of the gold mineralisation of the Delinel zone as well as two additional sub parallel zones situated to the north and south: North Delinel and South Delinel (refer to figure). The drill targets are lateral and depth projections of the Delinel zone mineralisation that show elevated metal factors (length of mineralised intersection x grade). Twelve (12) drill holes have been planned for a total of approximately 3,500 m of drilling. Each hole may intersect two or three mineralised zones for a total of approximately 30 mineralised intersections for the program.
The Delinel zone varies between 3 to 5 m in thickness and consists of two sub parallel zones over a strike length of 300 m. Mineralisation is comprised of semi-massive to massive sulphides (pyrite and pyrrhotite) with traces of chalcopyrite along a plane dipping 65 degrees south-southeast. The main trend, with elevated metal factors, shows a west-south-west plunge of 65 degrees.
"To date, all exploration programs conducted on the Dollier property have successively helped grow the extent and number of mineralised zones. The potential of the gold zone lies along a mineralised and conductive trend highlighted over one kilometer in length", comments Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO.
