Jim Florczak to retire as treasurer after 16 years with the company; Matt Giljum named vice president, finance and treasurer

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Arch Coal Inc. (NYSE:ACI) today announced that James E. Florczak, Arch's treasurer, will retire at the end of January after a 16-year career with Arch Coal. He will be succeeded by Matthew C. Giljum, who will become vice president, finance and treasurer at that time.

Florczak has served as Arch's treasurer since joining the company in 1998. Prior to joining Arch, he was a managing director of commercial lending at Bank of America.

Giljum first joined Arch in 2002 as manager of financial reporting. Since that time, he has served as senior manager of financial reporting; director of finance; and most recently as vice president of finance. He started his career at Ernst & Young LLP.
Giljum graduated from the University of Missouri in 1993 with a degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned his masters' of business administration from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004.
