Mr Robert Mintak reports: Pure Commences Detailed Gravity Geophysical Survey of Northern Part of Pure's Clayton Valley, Nevada Lithium Brine Prospects
VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / December 11, 2014 / Pure Energy Minerals Limited (TSXV: PE) (FRANKFURT: AHG) (the "Company" or "Pure Energy"), is pleased to provide the following exploration update. The Company's operator, GeoXplor Corp. has begun a detailed gravity geophysical survey of the Company's Clayton Valley, Nevada lithium brine prospects. In addition, a downhole geophysical survey will be performed in the recently drilled CV-01 borehole.
The detailed gravity survey will be located in the northern part of Pure Energy's brine prospects, and will refine the shape and extent of the target basin identified in a previous gravity survey, as well as identifying potential bounding geological features that may serve to contain the brine deposits. The downhole geophysical work will consist of natural gamma, dual induction and fluid resistivity surveys, and will increase Pure Energy's understanding of brine distribution and relationship to lithology. GeoXplor Corp. will contract Hasbrouck Geophysics to interpret the data compiled during the gravity survey. Southwest Exploration Services LLC will conduct and interpret the downhole geophysical survey.
The preliminary gravity survey (conducted by Hasbrouck Geophysics) showed a well-defined basin, which is a potential reservoir for lithium-bearing brines. Recent drilling work in CV-01 demonstrated that lithium rich brines were encountered in these basin infill sediments from a depth of 140 m below surface to the total depth of the borehole at 274 m below ground surface. This new combined geophysical survey will help to better resolve the shape, extent and structure of these potential source deposits, and also provide information that will assist the location of future exploration drilling work planned for the property.
