Pure Energy Completes Gravity and Geophysical Survey of Clayton Valley Lithium Brine Prospects
Pure Completes Detailed Geophysical Survey of Northern Part of Pure's Clayton Valley, Nevada Lithium Brine Prospects, Confirms Two Main Brine Bearing Zones
VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2015) - Pure Energy Minerals Ltd. (
The detailed gravity survey was completed by the Company's operator, GeoXplor Corp. and the data were analyzed by Hasbrouck Geophysics. The downhole geophysical work on exploration and test hole CV-01 (natural gamma, dual induction and fluid resistivity surveys) were performed and interpreted by Southwest Exploration Services LLC.
The detailed gravity survey refined the location and shape of the basin feature in the northern part of Pure Energy's claim area. This basin was shown to be asymmetric, with a steeper boundary on the eastern side of the basin, interpreted to be a bounding fault. The survey also confirmed that the maximum thickness of the basin sedimentary fills is approximately 1,500 m in this part of Pure Energy's claim area. Recent drilling work in CV-01 demonstrated that lithium rich brines were encountered in these basin infill sediments from a depth of 140 m to the total depth of the borehole at 274 m below ground surface. The downhole geophysics work completed in CV-01 confirmed two main brine-bearing zones are intersected by CV-01, and these data will be used to design future pumping tests that will help to determine key hydrogeological properties of the brine-bearing horizons.
The new data are currently being analyzed in order to develop better models for how lithium-bearing brines are distributed in the basin infill sediments and will further assist in refining previously identified drilling targets along the known mineralization intersected to date. The interpreted data will be invaluable in planning follow-up drill targeting for the upcoming drilling program.
Robert Mintak, Pure Energy CEO, commented, "the historic ground gravity geophysical data that assisted in identification of the target area was based on wider spaced stations. This new tighter spaced gravity survey coupled with our recent drilling results has enhanced our understanding of the overall geology of the Clayton Valley Project and increased the area of interest for targeting potential basement mineralization."
