Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. Commences Fieldwork in BC

23.07.2014  |  Accesswire
Vancouver, BC / ACCESSWIRE / July 23, 2014 / Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: CRB) ("Cariboo Rose") is pleased to report that fieldwork has commenced on its British Columbia projects. The initial program will be centred on its 70%-owned road-accessible Koster Dam project, located approximately 18 km north of the former producing Blackdome gold-silver mine (80 km southwest of Williams Lake). A prospecting, detailed rock and sediment sampling program is in progress to evaluate rock and silt sample anomalies, which were identified in the 2013 exploration program.

Historically, at Koster Dam, heavy mineral samples from several small drainages within the area of the claims returned very high gold values with some exceeding 10 g/t Au. Assessment records indicate subsequent heavy mineral sample results of up to 20 g/t Au. The claims fall within the Cretaceous/Eocene Age Nechako Basin which has recently become a significant gold environment with targets including the Newton Hill occurrence located 90 km to the west, the Blackwater Davidson occurrence located 220 km to the northwest and the Blackdome Mine located 18 km to the south.

Cariboo Rose will, following the current program at Koster Dam, commence work on its 100% owned Carbonate Hosted Gold program. The subject of this exploration is the carbonate stratigraphy between Cache Creek, BC and the Alkali Lake Ranch (east of the Fraser River approximately 100 km further north).

In 2014, several anomalous drainages were identified in this area by Cariboo Rose, where a number of consecutive silt samples exceeded 100 ppb Au (maximum 621 ppb Au) and duplicate samples concentrated in a portable sluice box exceeded 100 ppb Au (maximum 1,747 ppb Au). The Carbonate Hosted Gold program (CHG) is based on specific similarities between the geological setting of this region and that of Carlin, Nevada.
