Westmoreland Coal Company (NasdaqGM:WLB) today announced that John Schadan has been promoted from Executive Vice President to President – Canada Operations. Mr. Schadan will continue to report to Keith Alessi, Westmoreland’s Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Alessi held the dual role of Interim President – Canada Operations and Chief Executive Officer since April 2014 when Westmoreland initially acquired the Canadian operations.
“John has done an outstanding job of transitioning our Canadian assets onto the Westmoreland platform,” stated Mr. Alessi. “He is richly deserving of this promotion and I look forward to continued success for our Canadian operations.”
