Contango ORE, Inc. Announces Additional Drilling Plans for Tetlin Gold Project
Contango Ore Inc. (“CORE” or the “Company”) (OTCQB: CTGO.PK) announced today that its joint venture, Peak Gold, LLC had approved Phase II of the 2015 drilling program to begin immediately at its Tetlin Gold Project near Tok, Alaska. Phase I was completed in August 2015 and consisted of 7,500 meters of new core drilling, primarily on locations outside of the previously discovered Peak Zone. Phase II will provide up to 6,000 meters of core holes to follow up the holes drilled in Phase I that were most promising.
Brad Juneau, President and CEO of the Company, commented, “While the joint venture has not received all assays back from the Phase I drilling, initial findings are encouraging.” Phase II is designed to further explore and delineate the potential of new areas that were targeted in Phase I.
The Phase II work will be funded by Royal Alaska, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Gold Inc. (“RGLD”), who will make an additional contribution of up to approximately $4 million for an aggregate of approximately $9 million, to the joint venture. RGLD may earn up to 8% economic ownership of the joint venture by contributing $9 million and a 40% economic ownership by contributing $30 million to the joint venture.
