Chicago, United States (ABN Newswire) - Silver Institute President and Coeur Mining CEO Mitchell J. Krebs to Present at the 14th China International Silver Conference 2015 in Shanghai
Krebs Will Speak on the Current State of the Silver Market and How China May Help Drive Silver Demand Through Photovoltaics
Mitchell J. Krebs, President of the Silver Institute and President and Chief Executive Officer of Coeur Mining Inc., will speak at the 14th China International Silver Conference 2015 in Shanghai about the current state of the world's silver supply, from a producer's perspective, and industrial demand for silver. He will focus on how photovoltaics may drive demand in the near future. Silver is a primary ingredient in photovoltaic cells that transform the sun's rays into energy.
Europe has been the leader in solar power, but China is predicted to be the major driver as it works to reduce its dependency on coal. While the use of silver for photovoltaics represents a fraction of the silver market today, Krebs will explore the impact of anticipated market growth over the next decade.
