Alabama Graphite Corp. ("AGC" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ALP)(OTCQX:ABGPF)(FRANKFURT:1AG) is pleased to announce that purities of 99.99% graphitic carbon ("Cg") have been obtained from preliminary studies testing the purification of the graphite concentrates from the Company's flagship, 100%-owned Coosa Graphite Project, located in Coosa County, east-central Alabama, USA.

Graphite concentrates of 99.99% Cg purity were achieved using a conventional low-temperature thermal purification process at one of North America's premier metallurgical laboratories (For reasons of commercial confidentiality, Alabama Graphite Corp. is not disclosing the identity of the metallurgical laboratory contracted for the Company's ongoing graphite purification work). The purification trials were conducted on graphite concentrates produced by SGS Mineral Services ("SGS") of Lakefield, Ontario. The trials were based on a total product mix and were carried out across the total flake-size distribution (including, large-, medium- and fine-flake size fractions), in order to achieve a full-spectrum sampling of the Coosa Graphite Project's graphitic material and its demonstrated purity.

Figure 1: Image 1a: A secondary electron SEM micrograph of Alabama Graphite Corp.'s 99.99% Cg purified graphite flake concentrate. Image 1b: Image 1b was taken at the exact same time as Image 1a, but using the backscattered electron detector. Backscattered electron imaging is used to differentiate between materials of different compositions - phases heavier than carbon will look bright, and pure carbon will look grey, as seen here. The even coloration demonstrates the capabilities of the Alabama Graphite Corp. purification process in producing 99.99% Cg purified graphite flake concentrate. Donald Baxter, P.Eng., Co-Chief Executive Officer of Alabama Graphite Corp. commented, "Today marks another major milestone for AGC. The achievement of 99.99% Cg from the initial run of purification testing - without any optimization - only reaffirms our belief in the exceptional quality of the graphite material hosted on our Coosa property. These high-purity levels are required for graphite used in many high-value applications, namely Lithium-ion batteries for use in electric vehicles and grid storage/stationary batteries, but also in portable electronic applications, which represent a significant and growing market with enduring future demand.

"AGC will now move forward with larger scale testing designed to optimize the purification process and further improve these excellent results. We have now begun sizing (micronization), shaping (spheronization) and carbon coating of our Coosa graphite material - known as coated spherical natural graphite or CSPG (see the Company's June 25, 2015 announcement) - to meet the requirements for use in Li-ion batteries, specifically for electric vehicles. "

As announced on September 15, 2015, construction of the Company's Coosa Graphite Project pilot plant is currently underway, with mechanical commissioning planned for September 30, 2015. AGC's pilot plant was designed, built, and will be operated by SGS and managed by graphite-industry veteran metallurgist Oliver Peters, MSc, P.Eng., MBA (Consulting Metallurgist for SGS and Principal Metallurgist of Metpro Management Inc.). The Coosa Graphite Project's pilot plant will provide several tons of graphite concentrate from a process more representative of the quality that would be expected from a significantly larger-scale, optimized process and, additionally, will feed the Company's specialty CSPG graphite process initiatives. This will allow Alabama Graphite Corp. to provide larger-sized samples to meet current numerous requests from end-users for testing purposes.

Alabama Graphite Corp. remains on schedule to publish the PEA in Q4 2015 (see July 27, 2015 announcement) incorporating the Company's drill results from 2012 to summer 2015, and the forthcoming updated NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate.

About Alabama Graphite Corp.

Alabama Graphite Corp. is a Canadian-based flake graphite exploration and development company. The Company operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, Alabama Graphite Company Inc. (a company registered in the state of Alabama). With the most advanced flake graphite project in the contiguous United States of America, Alabama Graphite Corp.'s objective is to become the first producing American graphite mine this century. A highly experienced team leads the Company with more than a 100 years of combined graphite mining, graphite processing, specialty graphite products and applications, and graphite sales experience. Alabama Graphite Corp. is focused on the exploration and development of its flagship Coosa Graphite Project in Coosa County, Alabama, and its Bama Mine Project in Chilton County, Alabama. The Coosa Graphite Project hosts an NI 43-101 Indicated Mineral Resource Estimate of 38.2 million tons grading 2.60% graphitic carbon (Cg) - the largest Indicated Mineral Resource of flake graphite in the United States - based on drilling 0.18 square miles (0.3% of the total land package). Please refer to the Company's technical report titled "Technical Report - Alabama Graphite Corp. - Coosa Project" dated September 5, 2013 prepared by Scott E. Wilson, C.P.G. and Stewart D. Redwood, F.I.M.M.M. and filed on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

Alabama Graphite Corp. holds a 100% interest in the mineral rights for these two U.S.-based graphite projects, which are both located on private land. The two projects encompass more than 43,000 acres and are located in a geopolitically stable, mining-friendly jurisdiction with significant historical production of crystalline flake graphite in the flake graphite belt of central Alabama, also known as the Alabama Graphite Belt (source: U.S. Bureau of Mines). A significant portion of the Alabama deposits are characterized by graphite-bearing material that is oxidized and has been weathered into extremely soft rock. Both U.S. projects have infrastructure in place, are within close proximity to major highways, rail, power and water, and are approximately three hours (by truck or train) to the Port of Mobile, the Alabama Port Authority's deep-seawater port and the ninth largest port by tonnage in the United States (source: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers/USACE). The state of Alabama's hospitable climate allows for year-round mining operations and the world's largest marble quarry (which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in Sylacauga, Alabama), is located within a 30-minute drive of the Coosa Graphite Project.
