Turquoise Hill Appoints Brendan Lane as Vice President, Operations and Development
VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - January 20, 2016) - Turquoise Hill Resources today announced the appointment of Brendan Lane as Vice President, Operations and Development effective February 1, 2016. Mr. Lane brings 25-years of industry experience including metallurgical, mine engineering and commercial roles at Rio Tinto, Anglo American and BHP Billiton.
Jeff Tygesen, Turquoise Hill Chief Executive Officer, said, "Brendan's extensive engineering and commercial background will be extremely valuable to Turquoise Hill and we are delighted to have him join our team. Since 2013, Mr. Lane has served as Minera Escondida Limitada and Grasberg Finance Director at Rio Tinto Copper. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance and decision support to operational management teams with joint venture partners BHP Billiton and Freeport-McMoRan. Previously, Mr. Lane held a variety of commercial roles in the Rio Tinto copper and coal business units as well as engineering positions at Anglo American and BHP Billiton.
Mr. Lane holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Queensland and a Master of Applied Finance degree from the University of Southern Queensland.
