Centenera Mining Corporation: Reports Death at El Quemado Project

Vancouver, November 15, 2016 - Centenera Mining Corporation (the "Company") - (TSXV: CT, OTCQB: CTMIF), regrets to announce the sudden death on Sunday, November 13, 2016 of Mr Lucas Sebastian Salaberria, an advanced university student of geology. Mr. Salaberria became ill on Sunday morning and passed away shortly afterwards. Senior management in Argentina worked together with police and government authorities to mobilize emergency services and are in contact with his family at this difficult time. According to information received this morning, the cause of death was respiratory cardiopulmonary arrest. The El Quemado campaign has been temporarily suspended.

Mr. Salaberria was under an agreement with Cardero Argentina S.A. (the Company's subsidiary in Argentina) to provide assistance and collaboration in geological training. He was invited as a student to join the El Quemado exploration program to provide him with professional experience in exploration and mining fieldwork, while his collaboration with the Company stemmed from his knowledge and experience. This first phase of exploration at El Quemado was focussed on establishing access to the project and academic reporting of initial sampling results. Phase II will focus on systematic sampling of all identified target zones.
