Brazil Minerals, Inc. Announces Continuation of Progress in Operations
16.11.2016 | Accesswire
PASADENA, November 16, 2016 - Brazil Minerals, Inc. (OTC: BMIX) (the "Company" or "BMIX") announced today that its operations have been producing gold from fine alluvial material. Three pieces of equipment will be added to the small-plant circuit that recovers gold to permit much thicker material containing gravel, clay, and stones to be processed as well. One of such machines is a large vibrating screen, acquired last week after an extensive search; its photograph after arrival is attached to the version of this press release posted on the Company's website (www.brazil-minerals.com).
The other two pieces of equipment to be added will be a jig for separation of material containing diamonds and a large stone removal screen, to filter these out at the beginning of the process before they damage the next machine in the line. Loading to this circuit is done by delivery from an excavator or a wheel loader. A photograph of how particulate gold appears after recovery from the current circuit is attached to the version of this release posted on the Company's website.
In other news, the Company has solicited and is evaluating proposals to identify and quantify the gold mineralization contained in its multiple areas in the Jequitinhonha River basin, in studies to be done in a manner compliant with Industry Guide 7, the U.S. regulatory mining guidelines. These proposals come from two highly experienced geologists, including one from a top mining consultancy, both Qualified Persons as such term is used for geological reporting under Canada's NI 43-101 regulations.
In further news, the Company's Hercules brand of mortar is now being sold in 15 retail stores in the cities of Montes Claros and Bocaiuva. Demand is increasing as the Brazilian economy seems to be getting out of its worst recession in decades.
Additionally, the Company has appointed Peter K. Goldy as consultant in charge of the newly-created position of Director of Communications. Brazil Minerals is in full pursuit of the activities described in this and prior filings and releases, and its small team is handling a number of such items simultaneously. Therefore, the Company felt appropriate that shareholders have access to a dedicated contact person who is based in the US. Mr. Goldy is a significant investor in Brazil Minerals. He will be available by telephone weekdays between 11 AM and 6 PM, Pacific Time, and on weekends and holidays by appointment.
