Frontera Copper Corporation Announces Delay in Filing of Annual Filings

VANCOUVER, BC -- (Marketwire - March 31, 2010) - Frontera Copper Corporation ("Frontera" or the "Company") (TSX: FCC.NT) (TSX: FCC.NT.A) announces that the filing of the Company's financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2009, including the related management discussion and analysis, annual information form and CEO and CFO certifications (collectively, the "Required Documents") will not be filed by the required filing deadline of March 31, 2010.
The Required Documents will not be filed before the required deadline due to financial difficulties brought on by the default of debentures and change in the Company's auditor.
The Company is working diligently with its accounting staff and its auditors and anticipates that it will be in a position to file the Required Documents on or before April 21, 2010.
The Company has applied to the applicable securities regulatory authorities and received a management cease trade order related to the Company's securities to be imposed against some or all of the persons who are currently directors or officers of the Company to trade securities of the Company. The management cease trade order will be in effect until the Required Documents are filed.
Until the Required Documents are filed, the Company intends to provide information in accordance with National Policy 12-203 Cease Trade Orders for Continuous Disclosure Defaults.
