Kestrel Gold Announces Appointment of Director and Appointment of Members of the Compensation Committee and Audit Committee

VANCOUVER, March 20, 2013 - Kestrel Gold Inc. (the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:KGC) is pleased to announce the election of a new director of the Corporation on March 15, 2013, the appointment of a new Corporate Secretary of the Corporation and the appointment of members of the Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee of the Corporation, effective March 15, 2013.
Appointment of Director
At the annual and special meeting of the holders of common shares ("Common Shares") of the Corporation, held on March 15, 2013, Timothy J. Termuende did not stand for re-election as a director of the Corporation. In his place, Michael J. Perkins was elected as a member of the Corporation's board of directors.
Subsequent to his appointment as a director, Mr. Perkins resigned as Corporate Secretary of the Corporation and, effective March 15, 2013, Debbie Fern of Calgary, Alberta, was appointed as Corporate Secretary.
The following is a brief description of the background and experience of Mr. Perkins.
Michael J. Perkins, Q.C.
Mr. Perkins is a senior partner with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Barristers and Solicitors and has practiced law in the area of securities and capital markets, natural resources, and corporate and commercial law for in excess of 30 years. In addition, he has acted as corporate secretary and/or director of over 20 public corporations listed on The Alberta Stock Exchange, Canadian Venture Exchange Inc., (now the TSX Venture Exchange Inc.), the TSX Venture Exchange Inc. and/or the Toronto Stock Exchange, engaged in the oil and natural gas, mining, industrial, technology and venture capital industries.
Mr. Perkins obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from the University of Calgary, and Bachelor of Laws in 1980 from the University of Alberta. He was admitted to practice law in the Province of Alberta in 1981.
Compensation and Audit Committee
The directors of the Corporation appointed Kevin V. Nephin, Michael J. Perkins and Marc J. Stachiw as members of the Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee of the Corporation, effective March 20, 2013.
