Hunter Bay Minerals Announces New CEO and Chairman
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 07/02/13 -- Hunter Bay Minerals plc ("Hunter Bay") (TSX VENTURE: HBY)(OTCQX: HTBNF) is pleased to announce that Derk Hartman, a member of Hunter Bay's board of directors, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hartman has worked for more than 15 years on all aspects of mining projects throughout the Americas, Africa and the FSU. He has advised many private and publicly traded mining companies at board level on company transforming transactions. He has worked in investment banking for more than 10 years and has extensive international capital markets experience.
Dr. Chris Wilson, outgoing CEO of Hunter Bay, comments, "I am delighted that Derk has accepted the position of CEO. Hunter Bay also announces that Dr. Christopher Wilson, who resigned as Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed as Chairman of Hunter Bay's board of directors and will continue to serve as a member of Hunter Bay's board of directors. In addition, Andrew Tunningley has resigned as an Executive Director (Technical). Mr. Tunningley will continue to serve as Hunter Bay's Chief Geologist and a member of Hunter Bay's board of directors.
Hunter Bay wishes to thank Dr. Wilson and Mr. Tunningley for serving as officers of Hunter Bay including the facilitating of Hunter Bay's initial public offering and being responsible for acquiring Hunter Bay's Sela Creek Project. Dr. Wilson and Mr. Tunningley will continue to provide geological oversight to the company to ensure that Hunter Bay's technical and geological requirements are met. This will include on-going design, management and implementation of future field work at Sela Creek.
