Perseus Mining Limited: Board Changes

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwired - Sept. 23, 2013) - Perseus Mining Limited ("Perseus" or the "Company") (TSX:PRU) (ASX:PRU) advises that Mr Rhett Brans and Mr Neil Fearis will step down from the Company's Board of Directors upon completion of the Annual General Meeting on 15 November 2013.

Both Mr Brans and Mr Fearis are founding directors of the Company having been appointed in May 2004. Following their appointment, the Company completed its initial public offer of securities and listed on the ASX.

Mr Fearis's corporate and securities law expertise has been invaluable as the Company progressed from a start-up entity to an ASX listing in 2004 and a TSX listing in February 2010, and in the process transitioned from an explorer to a gold producer. Mr Fearis, an independent non-executive director since his 2004 appointment, will retire at the forthcoming AGM and he will not be seeking re-election.

Mr Brans, an engineer with a track record of successful development of mining process plant and infrastructure, was appointed as an executive director in July 2008 in anticipation at that time of developing the Edikan Gold Mine. He was instrumental in putting together the Edikan Gold Mine project development team and overseeing the construction and commissioning of the gold plant. Rhett will resign as a director following the 2013 AGM to enable the Board to maintain a majority of independent directors (after the retirement of independent director, Mr Fearis) but will continue in his executive role in project development and operating activities.
