Khalkos Exploration Inc.: Drilling Results of the Villebon Gold Property and Bulk Sampling
03.02.2014 | Marketwired
MONTREAL, Feb. 3, 2014 - Khalkos Exploration Inc. ("Khalkos" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:KAS) announces the results of its first drilling programme recently carried out on Vein #4 on its gold property of Villebon in the Val-d'Or region in Quebec. The best results obtained were 3.5 g/t Au over 2.1 m (VB-13-02) including 4.31 g/t Au over 0.8 m and 4.27 g/t Au over 0.6 m and, 3.5 g/t Au over 1 m ( VB-13-05) including 5.19 g/t Au over 0.5 m.
The programme of six drill holes, totalizing around 500 m, aimed to verify the continuity at shallow depth of the Vein #4 revealed by historical drillings and the surface samples taken by Khalkos in Spring 2013 (3.2 g/t Au in selected samples). The Vein #4 is situated at more than 1 km of the Céré old headframe (selected sample of 72 g/t Au: see press release, November 19 2013) and at more than 500 m of the Vein #3 (selected sample of 73 g/t Au and 69 g/t Au: see press release December 4 2013).
The NQ drill holes were performed following a triangular pattern of 25 m and all have intercepted the sulphides mineralized quartz vein (Vein #4) with depths varying from 25 to 60 m. Though intercepting the vein, drill hole #3 only yielded weak anomalous gold grade. The drill holes have nonetheless confirmed the good continuity of the vein #4 on a lateral length of 80 m, its 60 degrees dip as well as its width ranging from 0.5 to 2 m.
In addition to the drilling programme, Khalkos took a 15-ton rock bulk sample close to the old Céré headframe. This operation should allow the evaluation of the recoverable gold grade by gravimetric methods and also help to define the ore processing characteristics in this sector of the Villebon property. The bulk sample is ready to be processed by the facilities of Explolab at Val-d'Or. It is important to note that Explolab is a private entity owned and operated by Robert Gagnon, the president of Khalkos, and it must be considered as a non-independent company which is directly related to Khalkos.
Under an assurance and analytical control of quality programme, blank and certified reference materials were added to the drill core samples taken from the Villebon property. Core samples were processed by the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val-d'Or, Quebec by fire assay.
This press release was prepared by Robert Gagnon, President of Khalkos, Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument 43-101.
