TORONTO, Feb. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - Kennady Diamonds Inc. ("Kennady Diamonds," the "Company") (TSX-V: KDI) is pleased to announce that the latest Kelvin delineation drill hole (KDI-15-001HQ) intersected kimberlite approx. 40 meters to the NNW of drill hole KDI-HQ14-033a, the last -90 degree (vertical) Kelvin delineation hole, where kimberlite was intersected over approx. 194 meters.

Kennady Diamonds CEO Patrick Evans commented: "We are pleased to have intersected the Kelvin kimberlite well beyond drill hole 033a. We had delineated the Kelvin pipe-like body over a strike of approx. 610 meters up to 033a. Drill hole KDI-15-001HQ, drilled across the pipe from southwest to northeast, indicates that Kelvin is trending further to the NNW. Recently completed ground geophysics supports this."

Table 1 below provides details of drill hole KDI-15-001HQ.

Mr. Evans added: "Preparations are now underway to drill a minus 70 degree delineation hole from the same platform as KDI-15-001HQ following which a vertical hole will be drilled to gain a better understanding of the dimensions of the Kelvin pipe to the NNW. Based on drilling up to the end of 2014, we had estimated the potential tonnage of the Kelvin – Faraday kimberlite corridor at between 9 and 12 million tonnes. With further success the potential now exists to increase our previous tonnage guidance."

Preparations are also underway to recover a 500 to 700 tonne bulk sample from the Kelvin kimberlite by large diameter drilling while we continue delineation drilling at the Kelvin and Faraday kimberlites. It is expected that diamonds weighing more than 1,200 carats will be recovered from the bulk sample, which will be used for revenue modeling of the Kelvin kimberlite. We also look forward to commencing exploration drilling at the diamond-bearing MZ and Doyle kimberlites as well as a number of new exploration targets.

Up to the end of 2014 Kennady Diamonds had recovered a total of 53.15 tonnes of kimberlite from Kelvin by drilling. Processing by dense media separation and caustic fusion methods yielded 124.90 carats greater than 0.85mm. The largest diamond recovered from that sample weighed 2.48 carats.

About Kennady Diamonds
Kennady Diamonds Inc. controls 100 percent of the Kennady North diamond project located immediately to the north, west and south of the Gahcho Kué diamond mine currently under development by De Beers and Mountain Province Diamonds.

Kennady Diamonds aims to identify a resource along the Kelvin – Faraday kimberlite corridor of between 9 and 12 million tonnes at a grade of between 2 and 2.5 carats per tonne and also to identify new kimberlites outside of the corridor. The Kelvin – Faraday kimberlite corridor is a target for further exploration.  The tonnage estimate is based on the drilling completed to date. The potential quantity is conceptual in nature as there has been insufficient drilling to define a mineral resource and it is uncertain whether further exploration will result in the target being delineated as a mineral resource.
