NioCorp To Present To Investors On Its Elk Creek Superalloy Materials Project At Two Upcoming Conferences

CENTENNIAL, Colo., July 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NioCorp Developments Ltd. (“NioCorp” or the “Company”) (TSX:NB) (OTCQX:NIOBF) (FSE:BR3) announces that the Company will present on its Elk Creek Superalloy Materials Project to institutional and other investors at two upcoming investor conferences: the Monaco Growth Forum in Monte Carlo on July 26-27, 2016, and the Rodman & Renshaw 18th Annual Global Investment Conference in New York City on September 11-13, 2016.

NioCorp will be one of 20 companies presenting at the invitation-only Monaco Growth Forum on July 26-27. The conference is expected to draw hundreds of institutional fund managers, private asset managers, and high net worth individuals, as well as a number of global news media organizations. NioCorp also will present at Rodman & Renshaw's 18th Annual Global Investment Conference in New York City on September 11-13, 2016. NioCorp's presentation will be webcast live. Speaking on behalf of the Company at both events will be Jim Sims, NioCorp's Vice President of External Affairs.

NioCorp also announces that it has extended to June 17, 2017 its loan agreement with Executive Chairman and CEO Mark A. Smith. The original due date was June 17, 2016, and the total amount that remains payable on the loan is US$1 million. All of the original terms remain unchanged. NioCorp also has granted 500,000 options of NioCorp stock to its directors and officers at a price of C$0.94.

About NioCorp

NioCorp is developing a superalloy materials project in Southeast Nebraska that will produce niobium, scandium, and titanium. Niobium is used to produce superalloys as well as High Strength, Low Alloy ("HSLA") steel, which is a lighter, stronger steel used in automotive, structural, and pipeline applications. Scandium is a superalloy material that can be combined with Aluminum to make alloys with increased strength and improved corrosion resistance. Scandium also is a critical component of advanced solid oxide fuel cells. Titanium is used in various superalloys and is a key component of pigments used in paper, paint and plastics and is also used for aerospace applications, armor and medical implants.
