Hastings Technology Metals Ltd: Mr Vivian Roberts Appointed Director of Mining Operations
Mr Roberts has over 30 years of experience in large mining operations throughout Australia, covering several senior roles with large mining houses in various commodities. Mr Roberts has Bachelor degrees in Engineering (Mining), Economics and a Master of Business Administration.
In the past 15 years Mr Roberts has held various senior leadership positions including; General Manager Iron Ore for BC Iron, General Manager Metals Division Thiess Australian Mining (for the provision of contract mining services), General Manager Operations for the Roy Hill Iron Ore Project, General Manager for Fortescue's Christmas Creek mine, Alliance Manager for Thiess Mining at the BHP Billiton Mt Keith mine and Operations Manager for the Tiwest JV Cooljarloo mineral sands mine.
Mr Roberts has been directly involved in the establishment of a large (55 mtpa) iron ore mine starting from virgin ground through to plant commissioning and shipment. He has also been involved in the ramp up and expansion of several other mining operations including Prominent Hill, Century mine and Nifty Copper.
Mr Roberts is a member of the AusIMM, WA Mining Club (Committee member) and Australian Institute of Company Directors (Graduate Member).
