Firestone Ventures Announces Management Changes
Toronto, Ontario--(Newsfile Corp. - March 31, 2014) - Firestone Ventures Inc. (“Firestone” or “the Company”) (TSX.V:FV; FSE:F5V) is pleased to announce the appointments of Mr. F. Carson Noel, LL.B., MBA, as President & CEO as well as Director of the Company, and Ms. Donna McLean as CFO. Ms. Pamela Strand served as President and CEO since 2012 and will remain as a Director. Mr. Greg Hayes has served as CFO as a consultant, since 2006, and will continue to serve the Company in that capacity. The Board wishes to thank Ms. Strand and Mr. Hayes for their many years of valued service to the Company.
Mr. Noel is a seasoned, fully bilingual (Spanish) international business manager who has been a consultant to Firestone for the past two years. His proven leadership and extensive experience as a lawyer and businessman have led him to serve throughout Latin America, in numerous capacities, including: President of Hampton Court Resources Inc. where he obtained all permits and operated Ecuadorian alluvial gold mines for four years; two years as Canadian Commercial Corporation Representative contracting Canadian products and services with the government of the Republic of Ecuador; four years as General Manager and Legal Representative of Aurelian Ecuador S.A. leading up to and during discovery of its high-grade 13 MM oz. gold deposit; two years as country manager for Malbex S.A., (TSX.V:MBG) an explorer in the Argentina Andes; and two years as Vice President of Dalradian Resources Inc., (TSX:DNA) which is currently developing a high-grade gold deposit in Ireland. Carson is currently Director of Red Moon Potash (TSX.V:RMK) , and is the founding Director and Past President of the Ecuador-Canada Chamber of Commerce and the Past Director of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mines.
Ms. McLean has over 25 years’ experience as CFO, Treasurer, and Controller. She currently serves as CFO of Aurania Resources Ltd. (TSX.V:AOZ) and Excalibur Resources Ltd., (CSE:XBR), junior mining exploration companies with projects in Switzerland and Mexico. She is also Principal of DMc Corporate Services Inc., a private company that provides financial and administrative services to established and emergent businesses, operating in a variety of sectors and industries.
Dr. Keith Barron, Firestone’s Chairman stated “Firestone is positioned to take advantage of the future projected tightening of zinc supply and an increase in zinc price.
